It would have most likely have been moved along with Cornation fountain which was in front of Town Hall. The fountain was moved to top of Lochmaben for the road to make it wider at that point. 
Carnation fountain should never have been moved away from the High Street and should have remained in view. 
Mercat cross was also moved from front of Town Hall which can still be viewed not too far away across from the Crown Hotel.]]></description>
